One of the biggest values in establishing a good risk management program is that it will allow you to implement your business strategies and decide on where you want to focus your time. Whenever we talk about risk, we are talking about the things that are important to us and the things that keep us up at night. Whenever we put a name on those risks, we take away the fear from them so they’re not as scary to us anymore. Whenever we’ve got those risks written down, we can then write down our mitigating controls, find out where we are on mitigating those specific risks, and plan a path going forward to complete that mitigation. Not only that but establishing good risk management will help businesses and organizations in protecting their information security assets, as well as help prevent the loss of your valuable time and money.
